i'm back! haha.. again today's my OFF day! yeAy =) *sings to the tune of "i Feel Good..."

for the past 6 days, it had been a very fulfilling and enriching week.

 

Firstly, attended Mr Robert Watson butler training class, he's the founder of The Guild of Professional English Butlers in England. The whole session, were very very logical but yet haf not thought abt the issues before. *u get wot i mean? haha..

 

In brief, we had sessions on handling guests complaints well, eg: identifying the tone of complaint and communicate to members, stating the action u'll take (follow-up) etc... telephone ettiquete.. did some "phone pranks" on some hotels (sorry can't be disclosed, wanna noe? msg me!) Getting to noe the level of service that is "Raffles style" and bearing in mind not to provide "over-service" and "under-service" cos it'll definitely bring down the hotel level of service standdards..

 

had role plays on check-in procedures with my colleagues, ivy, may and terence. damn stressed up when doing the role play, cos i'm suppose to treat all of dem like guests and introduce to dem the suites and all. but, before i could do a real proper check-in, they would stun me with questions that made my mind "BLANK"! some of the questions were: Terence: *shoves $200 to my hand and says "make me happy tonight!" Me: *blurred and stunned and just stood dere dumbfounded.. another question posed was "what's that camera doing up there?" but the actual fact was a motion detector to sense gst in the suite, if ain't in the suite, automatic after some time will OFF the lights, energy-saving! so ME: (*thought to myself, what in the world was that, cos i wasn't introduce to dat yet.) i blurted out "its actually a sensor." May went " u mean to sense whether we are wearing clothes or not?" *gOsh... these guests can really really imagine eh. But all those questions that were posed to me, happened before.. so they are training me for the WORST to happen! haha.. so now i can deal with it! *yeay

 

My whole week was jam-packed, after work at 5pm had to head down to school from tuesday to thursday. tuesday was to attend the elections briefing & re-do my poster, wednesday to school to re-edit my poster, thursday also, had to hang it up all over school. A big shoutout to KEN, thanks for helping me with the stamping of SAA chops and also printing and collecting dem! i wouldn't had complete it, if it was me myself.  *appreciates alot! yAp, it's official i'm running for students' union for another academic yr, it had a been a eye-opening and enriching yr, with all the hiccups and all. it would only allow me to contribute for effectively to the committee. yep... so guys who are in TP pls vote for me from the 21st to 23rd July (9am to 6pm @ Cyber centre). tmr, which is monday. the whole entire week till saturday will be having a more intensive butler training with Mr Watson, this course is especially for valets only.. i can't wait to see what it is all about..  =) oh Yah.. u noe my attachment is 6 months right? instead of the initial 3 months in room valet and 3 months inn F&B. i'll be doing ALL 6 months in valet!!! yeah =) so happy =) hee.. hee.. these bunch of ppl (valets) i really admire alot for their professionalism, their passion and i'm looking forward to learning more with dem!!!
