it feels good when u work ard ppl who have the same level of commitment and passion as u do abt something. in this case Union. i've had bad experience abt team members not turning up for practices.
its was part of my life, something i enjoyed doing very much, love playing. Netball. ever since young i am a very active sports player in pri as well as sec sch, i would take part in sports meets, inter-class competitions, be it anything. street soccer, captain's ball, running. the feeling of winning is speechless n undescrible. most importantly, i enjoyed playing dem all. in sec sch, i took part in several ccas, basketball (outside team), softball and netball (sch team player)! i always dreamed to play in a higher level such as in the Singapore team. however, couldn't pursue tis dream due to my high commitments.
when i got into poly, immediately i joined TP netball team. for a whole year, i faithfully attend trainings with the hope to win something for tp. sports, netball is a team effort. in netball u need 7 players to form a team and 14 players to play a proper game. however, often this couldn't happen. someone either forgot abt training, or suddenly fell ill, or working, or mom/dad doesn't allow. in the end, abt 4 turn up. how do we train????!!!!!!!! gosh.. i get frustrated and all.. cos becos of these ppl who for "whatever" reasons don turn up, i end up playing badminton or running the track or going to the gym for workout. finally, i bucked up my courage and told my captain i wanted to pull out of the team. i highlighted the problems to her so often, asking her to do something abt it. but never, nothing was ever done.
Year 2 till now i've been in tpsu executive committee.. and the commitment level of each and everyone is high. almost every week, we'll definitely be back sch to do union stuffs, sacrifices are often made, at the expenses of ourselves, our family and sometimes project works. now being a weekend, all of us are here in school. i applaud each and every student leader in the sch, to any sportsplayer turning up for trainings faithfully, i applaud friends who turn up for meetings punctually and contributing ideas. =)
donno what spark this entry but just had tis good feeling abt my choice of quiting netball n running for union. i've grown in many ways. =) Thank you to all who have been part n parcel of my life, shaping me into what i am today.
