Singapore
's Raffles Hotel celebrates
118th birthday
anniversary

SINGAPORE : Singapore's Grand Dame, Raffles Hotel,
turned 118 on Friday.
It has been a prominent icon of the
Singapore
landscape for many years.
And in a young country like Singapore,
a 118th birthday stands out. And so, from rows of chefs
to housekeeping staff and frontline officers,
the number 118 kept cropping up.
To coincide with the mid-Autumn Festival, 118 staff stood
at the hotel's front entrance to welcome guests and
hand out 118 free mooncakes.

This was taken Christace with Mr Singh, one of the most photographed icons in Singapore.

As I recollected the memories I had working at this
great majestic hotel.
All was perfect.
The hotel, the employees, the team, the environment,
my bosses and
most importantly they gave me
opportunities to blossom.

This pic was taken with Ms Patterson and Ms Gorring back in March 2004.

This was first "surprise" birthday planned by me.
Together with ivy, we set up a birthday cake and surprised them at the SPA.

From then now, i couldn't get enough,

i vowed to bring the same smiles to every guest =)

As I looked back at my archives of the blog entries during my internship phase,
I still could feel the same "anticipated" or "excited" or "tiredness"
but of all that there was a sense of accomplishment.

Happy 118th Birthday Raffles!
May you delight your customers with many more memorable experiences!
