Surfing at Surfers with Rae, Jo, Tanvi, Emmanuel and James - 25/03
It was fantastic yet again!
We rented a car and drove to Gold Coast,
Got there abt 1130am,
changed,
tanvi and james got their lunch -subway,
and emmanuel and i decided to wait till after our surf,
the forecast the day before indicated Dangerous Surf,
and when we got there,
boy! we were really surprised!
the waves were huge and fierce!
the television reported the waves height as 3metres,
nevertheless,
we still rented our surfboards and went ahead!
it was crazy!
the waves came one after another,
the undercurrents were strong,
pulling each of us back into the sea,
one moment you could be walking on knee-height sea level,
the next minute,
huge mass of water floods over us and we are submerged right to our waist level.
It was jo's and rae's first time surfing,
taught them some basic moves and important issues to take note of,
so i was beside jo, teaching her how to get onto her board and kick when the waves come,
before we knew it,
we were hit!
both of us,
one on top of the other,
rolling in the sea,
with our surfboards,
being hit repeatedly,
my goodness that was really scary,
we were ok but drank lotsa sea water,
abrasion on the sand.
So that taught us the next time, to stand further apart and also be aware of the rough sea behind us!
2 hours of non-stop surfing,
and after 4 times of surfing trips,
i managed to STAND!
woohOoo!
STAND on the board!
Yippey!
lalalalala... i m happy... lalalala
*john owes me Boost now!
After surfing,
we got pizza and mac donalds,
headed back to the amazing apartment jo and rae has.
Used their shower and changed!
At their balcony, guess what we saw?
Rainbow! amazing Rainbow! my first rainbow! *sings "Somewhere over the rainbow.."
*thanks jo and rae for your kind hospitality! - they are coming this fri for the paul van dyke at Friday's.. it will be my turn then!
We drove up further to Currumbin beach,
on the way we saw TWO rainbows! *we are sooo lucky!
we managed to get there in time,
to witness good waves and surfers surfing the pipe! those waves are even bigger!
got some pictures,
and then "rain drops keep falling on my head",
we ran back into the car and started our journey back to brisbane.
Headed to the city for AJ vietnamese noodles,
then met the rest of the gang at Mt-Cootha for a nice warm coffee and chat!
It was such a fantastic trip! i wanna surf again!
