Real Issues in the hospitality industry

1. Long working hours
2. Six days work week

These are three main factors that contribute to the high turnover rate and high absenteesim rate in any hospitality establishment.

It is the fact. But how can we conquer this, that is what we should think about!

1. Treat employees better - take time to thank them for their effort and hardwork, show them you care.

2. Respect rank and file employees - so what is you are on the management level, if you don't treat these employees well, they in turn won't treat ur guests well - karma u know?

3. Managment has to earn respect from these employees, get your hands dirty when it gets tough - as the saying goes "actions are louder than words"

4. When something goes wrong, never blame anyone first, Listen to your employees first.

5. Hire the RIGHT people. Companies in Singapore should take pride in their local talent, and retain talent within the country and company.

I am looking forward to the day that i become a leader. I want to develop and manage the team that feeds on each other positiveness, each other's passion, each other's traits and skills -
One for all and all for one.
